On behalf of DASC well done to all the swimmers who took part in todays Gala at Glenrothes.
This was a brilliant day (although a bit earlier start than normal).

We had 27 swimmers take part (out of a possible 36)
And everyone swam very well and to a good standard, all should be very proud of their achievements
There were lots of personal best times along with swimmers whom were taking part for the first time ever
aswell as firsts in some events such as 50m and 100m swims.

An extra thanks goes to 3 swimmers :
Charlotte Laurie - only been with the club a few weeks and agreed to take part less than 24 hours before the event
Kathryn Wilson - took part in an extra relay due to a sickness call-off
Devon Bicket - age 8, swam the individual and relay for the 10-12 girls team to make the numbers up

Thanks goes to the parents and coaches who helped make the day such a a success, also to the spectators who cheered the swimmers on.

Once again, thank you for your dedication and time.

Picture of the Swimmers who took part in the LDD Gala

Well done to all the swimmers who took part in the LDD Development Gala in Whitburn today, you should all be very proud of your performances which ensured the club was represented to a high standard.

16 teams from throughout Fife & the Lothians took part.

DASC swimmers who took part were : Levi Wilson, Devon Bicket, Sian Thomson, Lewis Dickson, Megan Mitchell, Morgan Bicket, Fiona McArthur, Fiona Howard & Edie Peattie Lindsay.

There were a huge number of PB's including Fiona Howard who took a massive 16 seconds off her previous PB for 25m Freestyle, Edie who took 8 seconds off her 50m Freestyle time and Lewis who took 7 seconds off his time for 25m Fly.

One of the most exciting swims of the day took place in the 9 year old girls freestyle where Levi & Devon came joint third just over a second behind the winning swimmer.

As always LDD had invited a special guest along and this year it was 2010 Commonwealth Games 50m Breaststroke semi-finalist Corrie Scott who demonstrated each stroke before signing autographs and chatting to the swimmers.

All swimmers were presented with commemorative caps and a participation certificate.

Thank you to all the coaches & parents who helped out, especially Denise Wilson who carried out time keeping duties for the 1st time.
